The Best Way to Kick Off the Fourth of July Celebration Just Got a Whole Lot Sweeter (and Savory)!
The town of Canonsburg, PA, known for having one of the largest Fourth of July celebrations in the state, just got a whole lot more delicious! Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop is proud to announce that we were a major sponsor and co-host of the town’s First Annual Hot Dog Festival on July 3rd, 2024, held in the Midtown Lot.
This family-fun evening was the perfect way to kick off Canonsburg’s huge Fourth of July celebration!
The Highlight: Two Epic Eating Contests!
No hot dog festival is complete without a stomach-stretching competition! We brought our unique brand of fun to the event with two highly anticipated eating contests:
- Chili Dog Eating Contest: Sponsored by MP Coney Island, this contest featured an all-star lineup of local celebrities, including Judge Brandon Neuman, State Rep. Jason Ortitay, a CMHS Principal, and an NFL Veteran.
- Gummy Hot Dog Contest: Bringing the sweet to the savory, Grandpa Joe’s sponsored the Gummy Hot Dog Eating Contest! This contest was open to both adults and kids who dared to chew their way to victory.
More Than Just Hot Dogs
As Christopher J. Beers, founder and CEO of Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, said, “Hosting the Canonsburg Hot Dog Festival is our way of bringing people together and shining a spotlight on the wonderful businesses and individuals that make Canonsburg the vibrant town that it is”.
The festival also featured live music, kids’ activities, and amazing deals from local businesses, making it a fantastic night of community fun.
